Ten days before the Super Kickoff, a warm front of Minnesotans is kicking off a celebration of kindness that officially lasts until February 4th, with the hope it will echo forever.
The official kickoff of the Kindness Bowl happens January 25 at Surly Brewing Company - a pep rally, of sorts, to encourage everyone to get on the kindness playing field.
Watch a demo on how to construct a Little Free Library, get encouragement from noted speakers Todd H. Bol (founder of Little Free Libraries), Lori Myren-Manbeck (founder of Inclusivi-tee), Trudy Ohnsorg (author of Air Be & Me), Lisa Metwaly (author of Kindness Travels and former owner of Q-Kindness Cafe), David O’Fallon (MN Humanities Center CEO), and others! Enjoy soulfully elegant music by The Divine Mari Harris.
A five-dollar donation is included in the ticket price (which will cover food and some beverages) going to three local charities dedicated to young people, literacy and kindness. They are: Little Free Library, Sigma’s Bookshelf, and Sanya’s Hope for Children. Ticket holders are also eligible for a prize drawing. Prizes include: a Little Free Library, one night's house rental at the Little Purple House Airbnb, featured books, art, and more!
